Spectare Watch Company Workshop Terms & Conditions
1. General Booking & Payment By placing a booking for a workshop with Spectare Watch Company, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place and to allow for the prompt ordering of your specific watch components.
2. Cancellation and Refund Policy Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, leisure activities booked for specific dates do not automatically qualify for a standard 14-day cooling-off period. Furthermore, where customers purchase bespoke or personalised goods, they will be exempt from the cooling-off period and will no longer have the automatic right to cancel.
Because your workshop booking includes custom-ordered and bespoke parts tailored to your specifications which cannot easily be resold, our cancellation policy is as follows:
Refunds: Direct refunds for workshop bookings are generally not available.
Rescheduling & Credit: If you are unable to attend your booked session, we offer the option to transfer your booking value as credit towards a future workshop date.
Cancellation Charges: Should you require a cancellation rather than a date transfer, a 50% charge of the total booking fee will be retained to cover the costs of the bespoke materials already procured for your build.
3. Attendance Please arrive promptly for your scheduled session. Due to the structured nature of the 4-hour watch assembly process, late arrivals may not be able to complete their build and will not be eligible for a refund.
4. Liability for Damage to Tools and Premises Participants are expected to handle all provided watchmaking tools and equipment with reasonable care. You will be held solely liable for any negligent or intentional damage caused by you to the workshop tools, equipment, or the venue during your session, and you may be required to fully reimburse Spectare Watch Company for the cost of repair or replacement.
5. Liability for Component Damage The workshop is a hands-on, guided educational experience where you will be assembling delicate mechanical components. While our instructors will provide expert guidance, Spectare Watch Company is not liable for the cost of replacing any bespoke watch parts (including dials, hands, or movements) that are accidentally scratched, broken, or otherwise damaged by your own actions during the assembly process.
6. Statutory Liability Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude Spectare Watch Company’s liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, nor for any other liability which cannot be legally excluded or limited under UK consumer protection law.
7. Guarantee and Statutory Rights
In accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, any product or service supplied must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described.
If a physical component supplied by Spectare Watch Company (such as the movement, case, or dial) is inherently faulty within the first 30 days of your workshop, you can claim a full refund for that specific part or request a replacement.
If a manufacturing fault develops in a component within the first six months, it is legally presumed the fault was present at the time you took ownership, and you must give us one opportunity to repair or replace the defective component before claiming a refund.
If the attempt at a repair or replacement is unsuccessful, you can then claim a refund or a price reduction if you wish to keep the product.
8. Guarantee Exclusions
Because the watch is assembled by the participant, this guarantee specifically covers manufacturing and material defects in the provided parts.
The guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear due to ageing and normal deterioration.
It also excludes damage resulting from improper handling, accidents, misuse, or shock and impact.
As these watches are fitted with custom casing parts by the participant, they will not be guaranteed water-resistant at any time, and any damage caused by water ingress due to mishandling or misuse is not covered.
Any subsequent tampering, such as opening the case back, modifying parts, or intervention by an unauthorised third party, will void the warranty coverage.
